You will actively work on a PhD thesis in economics under the supervision of Prof. Sebastiaan Maes.
The research focuses on integrating spatial dimensions into household decision-making, studying interactions between partner, labor, housing, and location choices.
You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.
You will carry out a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for the Department of Economics.
Strong interest in household economics, demand analysis, and structural econometrics.
Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Social Economics, or Business Engineering.
Excellent academic results.
Good knowledge of econometrics and quantitative methods.
Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
Teaching competences aligned with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision.
Research qualities in line with faculty and university research policies.
Demonstrates quality, integrity, creativity, and cooperation.
Doctoral scholarship for 1 year, renewable for up to 4 years after positive evaluation.
Planned start date: 1 June 2026, or as soon as possible after that.
Monthly scholarship according to University of Antwerp doctoral scholarship rates.
