Professor (f/m/d, salary level W2) in Digital Systems

The Department of Technology invites applications for a professorship in Digital Systems.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in research and a commitment to education.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

-      Teaching in English in the following areas:

  • Development of programmable logic/FPGA hardware
  • System-on-Chip design (programmable SoC with processors and FPGA, IP design)
  • Digital signal processing in hardware, development of hardware for control and measurement applications
  • Real-time software development o Design of electronic circuits including PCB development

-      Research in the field of denomination

-       Supervising students’ projects, their final theses and professional practice phases

-      Participation in the self-government of the university

 

Application requirements

-      Completed university degree in electrical engineering, technical computer science, or a related field

-      Pedagogical suitability for teaching at a university

-      Qualification for research, usually demonstrated by a relevant doctoral degree

-      At least five years of relevant professional experience, of which three years should be spent outside the education sector

-      Experience in research and teaching

-      Proven ability to teach in English and willingness to teach in German

We also wish for:

-      Experience in the design of digital hardware and software for industrial or medical embedded systems

-      Experience in electronics development and PCB design

-      Experience with embedded Linux, including the development of kernel modules

-      Good knowledge of algorithms for DSP and control

-      Experience with modern development tools

-      Experience in acquiring third-party funding
