Clinical Assistant, Associate & Full-Professor

The Yale University School of Nursing (www.nursing.yale.edu) invites applications from (and nominations of) highly qualified candidates for clinical-track faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full-Professor level in nursing and/or midwifery or any field relevant to the School.

The mission of Yale School of Nursing is “better health for all people.” Yale School of Nursing has long been an innovator and leader in education, practice, and research. We were the first U.S. university-based nursing school and a leader in direct entry nursing for second-degree candidates. Our graduate entry pre-specialty in nursing (GEPN), nurse practitioner, nurse-midwifery, DNP, and PhD programs are world class and draw top quality students from around the globe. Faculty research covers a wide array of topics. We have a national program of research and clinical leaders in self-management with patients and families with chronic health conditions, palliative care, sleep science, and other innovative research areas. We have clinical practices in acute care, midwifery, pediatrics, and psychiatric mental health nursing.

Clinical faculty members in the Yale School of Nursing contribute to the tripartite mission of clinical practice, teaching and scholarship with an overarching effort to support social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism/anti-oppression, and reconciliation. Completion of a DNP, DNSc or PhD degree with clinical certification as an advanced practice nurse or midwife are required. Candidates eligible for this position will have a clinical area of nursing expertise or expert area applicable to the MSN or DNP academic training programs. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of academic teaching, clinical area of nursing practice, health care leadership, systems and policy or clinical leadership in a practice arena, and evidence of clinical scholarship. All faculty members are expected to have a regular on-campus and virtual presence for activities which may include but are not limited to teaching, service, clinical practice, and scholarship.

We are seeking faculty members with academic experience, areas of clinical nursing expertise and commitment to clinical training and scholarship that reduces health disparities and advances health equity.
