The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical or Tenure-Track Professor in Cardiology.
The successful candidate will join an established comparative cardiovascular and interventional cardiology service. This team includes:
1 tenured faculty
1 tenure-track faculty
3 nurses
4 cardiology residents
The service manages a high caseload (70–100 interventional cases per year), focusing on congenital cardiac defects, and collaborates closely with local veterinarians, breeders, and rescue groups.

Hemostatic assays: thromboelastography, platelet aggregometry

State-of-the-art cardiac EP lab with Abbott EnSite 3D mapping platform
Purdue Veterinary Hospital Complex (162,500 sq ft):
Small Animal Hospital (65,000 sq ft expansion)
Equine Hospital
Farm Animal Hospital
The new facilities support clinical teaching, compassionate animal care, and interdisciplinary research.
Required:
DVM (or equivalent) degree
ACVIM or ECVIM board certification in Cardiology or completion of a registered cardiology residency
Encouraged:
Candidates currently in ACVIM or ECVIM approved training programs with academic career interests
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
Background check required
Primary clinical case responsibility in cardiology
Train cardiology residents and veterinary students
Provide consultation within the hospital and participate in extension cardiology services
Clinical instruction for DVM students, house officers, and veterinary nursing students
Participate in didactic teaching
Clinical Track: Contribute to collaborative research aligned with departmental cardiovascular strengths
Tenure Track: Develop an independent research program in cardiology
