Position Overview

University College Cork (UCC) wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Professor in Social Policy.

Reporting to the Head of School, the post-holder will provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within Social Policy and the wider School of Applied Social Studies.

The post-holder will:

  • provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within Social Policy and the wider School,
  • engage in internationally impactful research through:build research capacity across the School, particularly participation in European funding initiatives,
    • generating research income,
    • supervising doctoral and postdoctoral researchers,
    • high-quality publications,
    • wider dissemination activities,
  • promote excellence in research-led learning and teaching in:contribute to the promotion of Social Policy within and beyond the University,
    • campus-based,
    • blended,
    • online settings,
      in line with the principles of Universal Design for Learning,
  • advance Social Policy innovation in Irish society and internationally.

Salary

Appointment may be made on the Professor (Scale 2) salary scale:

  • Scale B: €124,381 – €146,079
  • Scale A: €118,162 – €138,776

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
