W3-Professorship (m/f/d)

Sensory Physiology and Behaviour

to start as of 01.10.2022.

We seek a candidate with an excellent, internationally recognized track record in publication and grant acquisition. The professorship should pursue basic experimental research in hearing. Ideally, behavioural approaches should be integrated with the physiology of sensory transduction or processing in the central nervous system. The use of state-of-the-art methods for controlling or modifying neural activity in behaving animals is an advantage.

Close cooperation within our existing research centres and interdisciplinary research programmes, such as the Research Centre Neurosensory Sciences and the Cluster of Excellence “Hearing4all”, is expected, as well as the development of future initiatives.

The professorship will contribute to the teaching of biology and neuroscience, and related fields. The candidate should have relevant teaching experience. Teaching is expected at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in Bachelor-, Master- and PhD programmes. Teaching is in both English and German. Basic courses must be taught in German language within a reasonable period of time.
