We are looking to recruit an experienced researcher to work with us at the Centre for Risk Studies, a multidisciplinary research centre of excellence for the study of the management of economic and societal risks. The Centre's focus is in the analysis, assessment, and mitigation of global risk for the advancement of political, business and individual decision makers.

The purpose of this role is to develop and improve analytics for assessing the likelihood of an organisation experiencing a cyber-attack, and the effectiveness of prevention measures in reducing impacts. The candidate will use various modelling techniques to estimate in the impact of various designed scenarios on business, the world economy, national economies and insurance sectors.

You should be educated to PhD degree level in a relevant specialist subject, for example, computer science, mathematics, or engineering. You should have strong communication and qualitive skills, as well as an interest in the field and synthesising past research experience with current trends and events to create an innovative new approach to diagnosing future perils. We are looking for someone who is driven, committed and can demonstrate initiative and self-motivation, as well as good time management and planning skills. Previous project management experience would be advantageous.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.
