Research Assistant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen
under the reserve that funds are granted; part-time employment may be possible
Working field:
Scientific collaboration in the BMBF joint project "SlagCEM - High-quality cements and pig iron from steel mill slag". You are responsible for the planning and implementation of all work packages related to the hydration properties of the post-treated LD slag. You will fundamentally examine the materials using chemical and mineralogical methods and, in addition, use standardized procedures to test their application potential as a cement clinker substitute. Additional tasks include: testing and evaluating the durability properties of the new materials; scientific evaluation and processing of the investigations carried out; coordination of the cooperation with the other project partners; participation in project discussions and presentation of results at conferences; preparation of reports and publication of the results in basic and applied journals.
Requirements:
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in civil engineering, materials science with a focus on building materials, chemistry, mineralogy or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge in the field of building materials, inorganic binders and construction chemical additives are a prerequisite
- Experience in the production and / or testing of building materials is desirable
- Good command of German and English, both spoken and written
- A high level of motivation and the ability to work independently in an international setting are required.
The application must indicate any existing experience in the field of the advertised topic and previously used analysis methods must be indicated. The opportunity of a doctorate is given.
