Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Community Child Health Unit in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 502012) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in biological sciences, public health, nutritional sciences or other healthcare-related disciplines.  They should have a good command of written English and Chinese, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and good problem-solving, communication, organizational and administrative skills.  Experience in epidemiology and nutritional status analysis would be an advantage. The appointees will participate in a territory-wide large-scale epidemiological study on the vitamin D status of pregnant women, infants and toddlers under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Ip.  Duties include but are not limited to coordination of the study, data collection, data analysis and filing.  Specific on-the-job training will be provided for those who intend to pursue postgraduate studies.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
