Work­ing field:

Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the joint research pro­ject “Autonom SOW II” in the field of autonom­ous inland nav­ig­a­tion
  • Con­cep­tion, design, setup and launch of a sensor sys­tem for envir­on­mental data log­ging on ships
  • Plan and carry out spe­cific meas­ur­ing runs and long time data log­ging
  • Auto­mated data pro­cessing, eval­u­ation and visu­al­iz­a­tion
  • Doc­u­ment, report and pub­li­cize research res­ults

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Dip­lom, Maser or equi­val­ent) in Naval Archi­tec­ture and Ocean Engin­eer­ing; altern­at­ively in Mech­an­ical Engin­eer­ing, Auto­mot­ive Engin­eer­ing, Elec­trical Engin­eer­ing, Auto­ma­tion/Con­trol Tech­no­logy or sim­ilar with advanced know­ledge in Naval Archi­tec­ture/Inland Nav­ig­a­tion/Autonom­ous Driv­ing
  • Flu­ent verbal and writ­ten com­mand of the Ger­man lan­guage

Desir­able:
  • Know­ledge in test­ing/meas­ure­ment tech­no­logy, meas­ure­ment data pro­cessing, digital pat­tern recog­ni­tion, machine learn­ing
  • Know­ledge in the fields of autonom­ous driv­ing
  • Know­ledge in the field of ship hydro­dynam­ics
  • Capa­city for team­work, a high degree of engage­ment, flex­ib­il­ity, an eco­nomic way of think­ing, the cap­ab­il­ity to doc­u­ment and present com­plex facts and cir­cum­stances
  • good com­mand of the Eng­lish lan­guage
