Work­ing field:

Assist­ance to the head of the chair; sup­port for the acquis­i­tion of third-party fund­ing (DFG, EU, BMBF, BMWi, etc.); writ­ing of pro­ject pro­pos­als; coor­din­a­tion and coo­per­a­tion in ongo­ing third-party fun­ded pro­jects; own rese­arch in the field of geoin­form­at­ics, espe­cially in the fields of recon­struc­tion, qual­ity eval­u­ation, and car­to­gra­phic gen­er­al­iz­a­tion of 3D city mod­els using meth­ods of machine learn­ing; imple­ment­a­tion, oper­a­tion, and man­age­ment of the 3D geo­data repos­it­ory for machine learn­ing tasks (as well as the geo­sen­sor labor­at­ory); acquis­i­tion and pro­ces­sing of large-area urban 3D/4D geo­data; teach­ing activ­it­ies (in par­tic­u­lar exer­cises).

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted uni­ver­sity stud­ies (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and PhD in geo­desy and geoin­form­at­ics or a com­par­able sub­ject; at least three years of sci­ent­i­fic and pro­fes­sio­nal prac­tical work in a full-time employ­ment pos­i­tion; pub­lic­a­tions in rel­ev­ant journ­als and at con­fer­ences; exper­i­ence in the (inde­pend­ent) acquis­i­tion of third-party fund­ing; abil­it­ies in the field of sci­ent­i­fic writ­ing in Ger­man and Eng­lish; exper­i­ence in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary pro­ject man­age­ment; pro­found know­ledge of meth­ods of geo­desy and geoin­form­at­ics as well as very good skills in the field of (GIS-)pro­gram­ming (with Python and C++) and the use of pro­gram­ming lib­rar­ies for sci­ent­i­fic com­put­ing.
