Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref: 511993) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in animal-related disciplines or extensive experience with animals.  Knowledge of infection models with mice, rats and rabbits would be an advantage.  Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.  Those with a Master's degree or above may be considered for Research Assistant I, or Senior Research Assistant if they have at least 3 years’ post-qualification work experience.  The appointee will be involved in research projects related to evaluation novel antimicrobials on different animal models and mechanism of pathogenesis of different microorganisms.  He/She is expected to work with animal models and experiment.  Those who are interested in pursuing postgraduate studies are also welcome.  This position will be under the supervision of Dr. Richard Y. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
