Work­ing field:

Research in the area of high-res­ol­u­tion trans­mis­sion elec­tron micro­scopy (TEM): exper­i­ments and meth­od­ical work for fur­ther devel­op­ment of 4D-STEM util­iz­ing pixelated detect­ors (dif­fer­en­tial phase con­trast, nan­o­beam dif­frac­tion, pty­cho­graphy) at a 300 kV probe-cor­rec­ted S/TEM; applic­a­tion of TEM- and STEM-meth­ods on semi­con­ductor nano­struc­tures, 2D-mater­i­als, and cata­lytic sys­tems; elec­tron micro­scop­ical sim­u­la­tion and com­puter-assisted eval­u­ation of meas­ure­ments; TEM spe­ci­men pre­par­a­tion; sup­port of teach­ing activ­it­ies (com­puls­ory and elect­ive courses, prac­tical courses).


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in phys­ics, math­em­at­ics, inform­at­ics, mater­ial sci­ences or related fields of study. Expert­ise in solid-state phys­ics, semi­con­ductor phys­ics as well as com­puter pro­gram­ming are ideally required. Interest in quant­it­at­ive ana­lysis of elec­tron micro­scop­ical data is favored. A good know­ledge of Ger­man and Eng­lish in writ­ten and spoken, didactical skills as well as a high level of self-reli­ance and engage­ment are man­dat­ory.
