Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Pathology (Ref.: 499848) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in biomedical sciences, biological sciences or a related discipline, with at least 1 year’s relevant work experience. Knowledge of molecular genetics and experience in molecular biology and cell biology techniques would be  advantages. Those who plan to pursue postgraduate studies are welcome to apply.

The appointee will join a passionate and experienced research group to work on a gastrointestinal cancer research project under the supervision of Professor S.Y. Leung (http://www.hku.hk/patho/staff/list/syleung.html). He/She will conduct research studies on gastrointestinal cancer using a 3-dimension patient organoid platform and an organoid derived xenograft model. He/She will also assist in daily cell culture maintenance and laboratory housekeeping, process clinical samples, analyse data, and establish the organoid culture from clinical samples. Specific on-the-job training on molecular biology and cell culture techniques will be provided. Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.patho.hku.hk/.
