Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 503587) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, biomedicine, or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and a keen interest in research on the epidemiology and/or vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections such as COVID-19 and influenza. They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in clinical research, blood-taking, statistical analysis or knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology would be advantages.

The appointee will work on community-based studies and vaccine trials of respiratory virus infections, including COVID-19 and influenza in Hong Kong. He/She will recruit participants in outreach centres, conduct regular participant follow-up through in-person/telephone interviews, handle and collect clinical specimens, conduct health education activities, and perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
