Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Officer) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 500442) (to commence as soon as possible, until July 31, 2021)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Health, Social Sciences or a related discipline with at least two years’ work experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), be responsible, mature, good IT and organizational skills, and be attentive to details. Good knowledge of and skills in basic and advanced data analysis (e.g., using SPSS, Mplus, Amos, Stata and/or R) will be an advantage. Preference will be given to those who have experience and great passion in helping caregivers of children with difficulties. Those with less experience may be appointed as Research Assistant II.

The appointee will work on the JC A-Connect: Jockey Club Autism Support Network Project which is aimed at providing holistic support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) attending mainstream schools, their parents and teachers. Currently, the project is piloting the World Health Organization Caregiver Skills Training Programme to equip the parents of children with ASD and developmental delays with essential parenting and behavioural management skills to foster the optimal development of their children. The appointee will work on a randomized controlled trial, primarily responsible for project assistance in fieldwork and participant recruitment; assist in the preparation of publications and reports; perform administrative duties or other duties as assigned.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
