Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 515051) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Communications & Media Studies, or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, and either Tagalog or Bahasa, a strong sense of responsibility, and adequate knowledge of field research methods including qualitative methodologies and/or community-based research initiatives. Willingness and curiosity to learn new things and collaborative working skills are a plus. Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. They should also have good interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Previous work experience in research projects would be preferred but not required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.

The appointee will work on a range of international research projects related to migration and family well-being in Southeast Asia. He/She will be responsible for data collection including some travel to Southeast Asia, data management and analysis, literature searches, literature review, report writing, and other assigned research-related duties.
