Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 518698), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicant should have a BSc. degree, with experience in molecular biology, human genetics or bioinformatics. They should have excellent communication skills in English; experience in Unix command line interface; and competence in basic programming languages such as R. They should be self-motivated, independent, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in analysing large-scale genotyping, sequencing and/or multi-omics datasets is highly preferred. 

The appointee will join a research team to study the genetic etiology of congenital disorders, with the research goals to understand the underlying pathological mechanisms, to discover novel clinical and molecular markers, and to stratify patients based on genetic risk profile.
