Description

For a stable and safe operation, the electricity system requires flexibility, i.e. the ability to react reliably to fluctuations in supply and demand. In the framework of a DFG-funded research project, this operational flexibility is formally modeled in order to facilitate its optimized deployment in the energy system.

The project is part of the priority program “Hybrid and multimodal energy systems: System theoretical methods for the transformation and operation of complex networks”.

The position holder will work on the above-mentioned project. Pursuing a doctoral project is explicitly welcome.

A Master's degree in power engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. A high level of technical competence, strong analytical skills, some experience in energy system modeling, enjoyment of scientific work, and a very good command of English are also expected. In addition, proactiveness, a sense of responsibility, flexibility and programming skills (ideally with Python) are desired.

You can expect a vivid scientific environment in a growing and committed team. Diverse existing contacts and research activities offer the possibility of networking in the professional community and opportunities for personal development.
