The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Vanderbilt University seeks an outstanding individual for a non-tenure track faculty position in high energy nuclear physics. A Ph.D. in Physics is required. The successful candidate will participate in research on the study of matter under conditions of extreme energy density and temperature utilizing the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Switzerland as part of the CMS collaboration. The selected candidate would be expected to perform measurements characterizing the properties of the quark-gluon plasma created in high-energy nuclear and hadronic collisions, and will also participate in the operation of the DOE-funded T2 computing facility of CMS. The successful applicant will also be expected to mentor and advise physics graduate and undergraduate students.
