The Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology in the Rutgers University School of Environmental and Biological Sciences seeks candidates a Non-Tenure Track Research Associate to lead a next-generation sequencing Microbiome Core and the Rutgers Center for Microbiome Analysis facility in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences of Rutgers University. Serving as the Assistant Research Professor, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operation of the laboratory and lead bioinformatics and microbiome data analysis.

Minimum Education and Experience

A PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or computer science, a minimum of three years of postdoctoral training in microbiome and omics analysis, familiar with procedures for sample processing and library preparation for next-generation sequencing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Programming skills, experience with major bioinformatics tools and databases for microbiome analysis, experience with metagenomics pipelines and high-performance computing, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
