Position Overview

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology seeks candidates for a Research Associate position. Expertise is required in the following areas:

  • Adipocyte culture

  • Mouse models of obesity and insulin resistance

  • Molecular biology

  • Whole animal metabolic investigations

  • Genomic analyses

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a research project focused on adipose (fat) tissue remodeling in response to changing metabolic and environmental conditions (e.g., obesity, environmental temperature)

  • Develop a high-impact research project with the potential to reveal new treatment strategies for metabolic diseases

  • Acquire training in studying adipose tissue, metabolism, and obesity-related disease using a variety of techniques

  • Train and mentor junior researchers


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of postdoctoral experience
