Position Overview

Illinois Tech’s Department of Chemistry seeks a Senior Research Associate to develop nanopore sensors for a range of applications. Funding comes from NIH and/or NSF grants, initially for one year, with possible extension. Employment is at-will.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on nanopore sensors.

  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Write progress reports, research papers, and presentations for scientific meetings.

  • Communicate effectively with PI, research group, and collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Bioengineering, or related field.

  • Expertise: Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Electrophysiology, Biosensor development, or Bioengineering.

  • Strong record of publications preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and mentor small research teams.
