The post-holder(s) will perform cutting-edge academic research on the theory of quantum computation. Areas of particular interest include, but are not restricted to: quantum algorithms and their underpinning mathematics; verification/testing of quantum devices; architectures for quantum computers; applications of quantum computers; quantum computational complexity and Hamiltonian complexity; algorithms for simulation of quantum systems, design of methods for reducing errors in quantum measurements.
Aspects to which the post-holder could contribute, depending on research interests and expertise, include:
The post-holder will be expected to have a high degree of autonomy within the overall framework of the project.
A PhD in the theory of quantum computation or quantum information, or otherwise evidence of expertise in this area, is essential, together with a strong record of publications in high-quality international conferences and journals.
We look for candidates to have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to take a primary role in organizing and running research projects, and enthusiasm to work in a multidisciplinary group.
Please note this is NOT a direct application for a live vacancy. Instead, you will be entered into a candidate pool for a Research Associate /Senior Research Associate in Quantum Computing Theory position.
We have a policy in place to regularly review our candidate pool to ensure its relevance and efficiency therefore you may be invited to interview or occasionally receive notifications regarding new job openings. We encourage you to stay connected with us and to keep your contact information up to date to ensure that you don't miss out on any potential opportunities.
