At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-, Fakultät für Forstwissenschaften und Waldökologie, there is a position as
to be filled. Starting date is 4/1/2027. The position is permanent.
The position is dedicated to research and teaching in the field of silviculture and is intended to cover the entire thematic and regional scope of the discipline. It will be affiliated with the Tropical Silviculture and Forest Ecology Group until the current chair retires, and thereafter with the Department of Silviculture and Forest Ecology. The teaching load in the field of silviculture in temperate zones and silviculture in the tropics and subtropics amounts to 10 semester hours per week. Candidates are expected to have a clear vision for the (further) development of their own research direction, a willingness to work independently, and a passion for sharing knowledge through teaching.
The entry requirements are a successfully completed master’s degree in forestry and a completed doctorate in the field of silviculture. The central selection criterion is a visible, independent teaching and research profile in the field of silviculture, demonstrated by thematically relevant third-party funding, publications, and field or practical contacts, as well as teaching and supervisory experience.
