The Department of Pharmacology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of drug delivery to acute brain disorders, with the focus on development of targeted delivery platforms of nanomedicine and protein/peptide conjugates. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline.
Responsibilities may include protein engineering for antibody/peptide production and modification, nanoparticle production and characterization, development of brain disorder mouse models, radiolabeling and tissue processing, HPLC, flow cytometry, histology, visualization strategies for complex data, statistical analyses, and writing scientific papers.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to help supervise laboratory technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students in an academic setting.
Applicants must have demonstrated excellent qualification in education and research.
