Description

The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff.

This appointment will be initially for one (1) year, and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

Expertise is required in the specific area of:

  • Liquid chromatography.
  • Mass spectrometry.
  • Protein analysis.
  • Immunoprecipitation.
  • Western blot analysis.
  • Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
  • Antibody validation.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree with at least three (3) years post-doctoral experience.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Running and maintaining both low-resolution and high-resolution mass spectrometers.
  • Conducting immunoprecipitation-ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry assays.
  • Quantifying trace amounts of bioactive proteins in blood and tissue samples from animal models and humans.
