This is a limited duration position with an expiration date of 2027. Continuation is dependent upon additional grant funding.
What You'll Be Doing:
Conduct individual and collaborative research in convergent manufacturingDesign and execute additive manufacturing experimentsPerform materials and process characterization using advanced analytical techniquesPrepare research reports, technical presentations, and publicationsCollaborate closely with faculty, students (graduate and undergraduate), and external partnersMentor and train students and research staff in laboratory practices

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
MS degree with research experience in advanced materials and manufacturingA minimum of 5 years of research and development experience in additive manufacturing, materials science, and manufacturing systemsProficiency in additive manufacturing processes and systems, materials science and engineering, and manufacturing process characterizationExpertise in analytical techniques such as TEM, FIB, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, XRD, and related methods


Skills needed:
Critical scientific and engineering thinkingEffective project planning and the ability to learn new topics quicklyStrong technical communication skills (writing and presentations)Sense of urgency, safety awareness, and professional work ethic
Nice to have:
PhD degree (preferred) in a relevant field, with hands-on experience in manufacturing, materials, and designHands-on experience with advanced materials, manufacturing systems, and process designStrong knowledge of hybrid and digital manufacturing systems
