£27511 to £33797 per annum, pro rata depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD).

The post will have specific responsibility for research, for developing research objectives and proposals for a research project in Respiratory Epigenetics. 

You will be expected to plan and conduct work using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research, and will be responsible for writing up work for publication and contribute to dissemination at national and international conferences. You will join an established team, led by Rachel Clifford and Alan Knox, whose main areas of research interest include epigenetic mechanisms of respiratory disease and cell free DNA function and biomarker capacity in respiratory disease. You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, and to develop research methods and extend your research portfolio. You will be required to resolve problems in meeting research objectives and deadlines in collaboration with others. To identify opportunities and assist in writing bids for research grant applications. Prepare proposals and applications to both external and/or internal bodies for funding, contractual or accreditation purposes. There will also be an element of student supervision, involvement in postgraduate research projects and student assessment. 

The post is offered on a fixed term, part time basis of 21.75 hours per week until 31st March 2022.
