Work type: Contract, full-time
Location: Singapore
Categories: PhD, Others, Others

We are seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral position in 2D material and nanodevice (theory and simulation). The successful candidate will apply Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods to study the physical properties of 2D/2D and 2D/3D heterostructures composed of advanced materials (e.g. 2D material, topological solids) with conventional metals, semiconductors and insulators. Particular focus will be made to understand, design, and optimize the performance of these heterostructures for nanoelectronics, spintronics and valleytronics applications. The position also involves collaborating work with experimentalists who are also studying these advanced material devices.

Job requirements:

  • PhD in computational/theoretical Physics, Material Science, or a related field

  • Knowledge and experience using density functional theory codes (VASP and QuantumATK)

  • Good understanding of solid state physics

  • High level of motivation and a positive personality

  • Proven publication record

  • Willing to work in collaboration with experimentalists
