Position Overview

The Nottingham University Business School China, led by Prof. Alain Chong and Dr. Xiaodie Pu, invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow at the newly established Postdoctoral Research Station in Business Administration.

This position is part of a two-year collaborative research project on:

  • Application and evaluation of Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) in financial risk control and digital economy research

  • Assessing AI-based due diligence assistants via quantitative analysis and field experiments

  • Developing evaluation frameworks for GenAI/LLM tools, including benchmarking studies and expert-annotated datasets

  • Empirical research on digital transformation, industry coordination, and human-AI collaboration models

Work involves collaboration with industry partners, data collection, and on-site activities at UNNC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate research objectives and proposals for individual and collaborative projects

  • Execute research using established methodologies and techniques

  • Analyze and interpret data, evaluate scholarly texts, and contribute innovative insights

  • Write research publications and present at national/international conferences

  • Identify opportunities for research grant applications

  • Build relationships with internal and external partners for collaborations and funding

Candidate Requirements

  • Ph.D. obtained within the last 3 years in Information Systems, FinTech/Financial Engineering, Data Science & Business Intelligence, AI/NLP, or Management Science & Engineering

  • Excellent oral and written communication in English; Chinese is a plus

  • Strong analytical, research design, and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to apply relevant research methods creatively

  • Experience in collaborative research and project management
