Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 501738), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree preferably in Biomedical Sciences. Preference would be given to those with an expertise in molecular, developmental and stem cell biology, and/or knowledge of the generation and analyses of single cell transcriptomic data of the animal model.  Applicants should be responsible, organized, self-motivated, and attentive to details. They should also have good analytical skills, a good command of English, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

The appointee will participate in research projects relating to skeletal biology with a focus on cartilage and bone development and genetic diseases, such as osteogenesis imperfecta and achondroplasia.  Enquiries about the duties of the post shall be sent to Professor Danny Chan at chand@hku.hk

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
