Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Research Officer / Research Officer at the Research Hub on Institutions of China in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 502492) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should have a Ph.D degree in Social Sciences, with a research focus on the institutions of China broadly defined.  Postdoctoral work experience in the relevant field is preferred. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese and the ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in building networks with researchers and scholars globally is highly desirable.

The appointee will be expected to coordinate large-scale research initiatives through collaboration with colleagues within the University and beyond. He/She will help build the research team and lead the research team to effectively deliver high quality research outcome. He/She will work closely with the Director of the Research Hub to develop and implement strategic research plans, collaborate with local and international scholars to conduct research, train and supervise junior research staff, coordinate education and training programmes, and perform other assigned duties.
