The Joint Faculties of the Humanities and Theology have eight departments and carries out large and varied work within research and education with the purpose to understand people as cultural and social beings. The faculties have around 700 employees and around 4000 students.
Lund University Humanities Lab is an interdisciplinary department for research technology and training for researchers, techers and students at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology. The Lab hosts technology, methodological know-how, archiving expertise, and a wide range of research projects. Lab activities are centered around the humanities with research targeting issues of communication, culture, cognition and learning. Many projects are interdisciplinary and conducted in collaboration with the social sciences, medicine, the natural sciences, engineering, and e-Science. We have partners and collaborators locally, nationally and internationally. The Lab is a vibrant and dynamic environment enabling scholars in the humanities to combine traditional and novel methods, and to interact with other disciplines in order to meet the scientific challenges ahead to understand, explain and improve the human condition.
We now seek an application expert in computational linguistics, language technology, language AI, machine learning for a full time temporary position for 2 years
Language technology
The Humanities Lab is a certified knowledge center within the European Research and Infrastructure Consortium Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure (CLARIN ERIC) and a node in the Swedish national consortium for language technology, Swe-Clarin. It is thus well equipped to handle language technological challenges. However, to meet the rapidly growing needs for support, guidance and project work, increased expertise is required especially in areas with a focus on larger data sets, text extraction, topic modelling, automated information extraction, and machine-based methods such as deep learning and word vectors.
