Your role
A Research Scientist position in engineering is available at the Chair for ‘Urban Water Management’ (Prof. Dr. Joachim Hansen), Department of Engineering. The successful candidate will be hired for projects in the fields of Micropollutant elimination from wastewater treatment plants and Combined Sewer overflows, Natural based solutions for wastewater treatment, Stormwater management for irrigation purposes.
Further tasks are:
- Assistance in PhD student supervision
- Writing of grant applications, project reports, and scientific papers
- Close collaboration and knowledge exchange with national and international collaborators
Your profile
- Post doc experience (> 5 years) in water characterization, wastewater treatment and resource recovery from sewage sludge
- PhD with proven research within defined specialism area
- Detailed knowledge of relevant models, techniques and methods, and able to develop new
ones
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated success in planning related work, building a team and delivering research results
- Proven track record in publishing high-quality research outputs in top-tier journals
- Proven track record in carrying a leading role in research project acquisition and project management
- Experience in research collaboration with industrial partners
- Proven ability to formulate advice on and manage teaching and/or research programmes/project.
- Play an active role in research activity and projects of the group by developing original and innovative contributions. Participate actively in the supervision of junior group members
- Contribute to the development or improvement of course/programme in specialism area as part of a team
- Participate to student assessment activities, and bachelors/masters’ thesis supervision
- Continuously keep up to date on scientific topics and data in their field and translate findings into teaching activities
- Participate in teaching evaluation and quality management
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English as well as German or French are
