About This Opportunity 

 

Expressions of Interest are open for casual academics in Physiotherapy. Specifically, we are seeking Clinical Educators to support students in our Neurological, Ageing and Balance (NAB) clinic. We are excited to hear from those who can contribute to the core neurological clinical education of students enrolled in our Bachelor (Hons) and Graduate Entry Physiotherapy courses.

 

Ideally, we are looking for people who have the capacity to cover Mondays and Wednesdays from late September until the end of October 2023. There may also be an additional day available earlier in this period.

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Facilitate and supervise individual and groups of students performing profession specific or inter-professional clinical practice in the Neurological Ageing and Balance clinic.

  • Monitor, evaluate and report on students’ development of clinical skills and knowledge, utilising profession specific tools and criteria (i.e. Assessment of Physiotherapy Practice - APP).

  • Guide, develop and deliver evidence-based interventions for clients in conjunction with students and clinical staff.

 

These are casual academic positions, approximately 2-3 days per week, from late September until the end of October 2023. The casual rate offered will be AC50E ($60.37/hour).

 

About You  

 

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate/graduate-entry degree in Physiotherapy with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Demonstrated recency and currency of practice with advanced knowledge and ability to deliver evidence based clinical practice in the areas of neurological and gerontology physiotherapy.

 

The following would be considered desirable:

  • Previous experience in clinical education across either neurological, gerontology or community settings.

  • Knowledge and application of the Assessment of Physiotherapy Practice (APP).

 

In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:

  • Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment. 

  • Mandatory Immunisations: It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

  • AHPRA registration: It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent holds and maintains (or demonstrates eligibility to do so) full AHPRA registration.
