Position Overview

The Department seeks a research appointee to conduct academic research in collaboration with faculty or research teams. The focus of research includes:

  • Imaging cerebral cavernous malformations

  • Identifying plasma biomarkers related to biologic activity

  • Applying this knowledge to diagnose cerebral microbleeds in the aging brain

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research experiments and data analysis

  • Assisting with ongoing grant applications and applying for independent funding opportunities

  • Managing collaborative research with internal and external labs


Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent) in neuroscience, vascular biology, biomarker science, or related discipline

  • Completion of postdoctoral training

  • Strong research background in MRI quantitative data postprocessing, computational biology, and statistical approaches to biomarker research


Preferred/Desirable Skills

  • Experience with mouse models of disease

  • Expertise in histopathology

  • Knowledge of spatial transcriptomics
