The Department of Physics at Stockholm University is one of the largest departments at the Faculty of Science with a wide range of fundamental research topics, both experimental and theoretical. The department has an international character with about 250 employees of which about 95 PhD students.
The Oskar Klein Centre for Cosmoparticle physics (OKC) is one of the Linneaus centers of excellence initiated by the Swedish Research Council. Active partners in this vibrant international research Centre are the Physics and Astronomy departments at Stockholm University, the Department of Physics at KTH and the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics, Nordita.
Main responsibilities
The communicator at OKC is an important link between the research environment and society and has an advisory function to the Centre leadership. The role includes both strategic and operational communication work, where you are responsible for OKC's external and internal communication work, mainly in English. You work closely with both management, researchers and doctoral students throughout the organization and you will be part of larger and smaller projects / working groups, which requires good knowledge and a helicopter perspective of the entire organization to be able to prioritize correctly. With the position comes, apart from certain administrative tasks related to the steering group activities, the editorial responsibility for OKC's website, including but not limited to publishing, updating and developing the content, as well as responsibility for the communication on social media. You are responsible for the ongoing development work of the center's communication with opportunities to design the focus of the communication work - and a great deal of freedom in how you set it up. In this position, we expect that you are an excellent writer who can adapt texts to target group, communication channel and context. You have also knowledge and experience of working with CMS tools and possess administrative skills.

Qualification requirements
For this position, it is necessary that you have a Master’s level university degree in natural science, are familiar with media and communication, or other experience that the employer finds equivalent. You are used to working with strategic and operational communication work as well as experience of web publishing, good stylistic and communicative ability in both speech and writing in English and a good understanding of Swedish. Knowledge of OKC's research fields is advantageous. It is meritorious if you have experience from film and editing, photography, graphic design in both web and print, development and analysis of web content and structure, coordination of events and communication work in the education or research sector. As a person, you are independent, take own initiatives, are responsive and service-oriented and have a good ability to see “the full picture”. You cooperate easily, share your knowledge and have good social skills. You structured and efficient in your way of working and used to prioritizing, as you will be part of larger and smaller projects / work groups in parallel with the ongoing work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
Terms of employment
This position is time limited to 12 months, and is based on a half time employment (50 %). Stockholm University applies individual salary setting, therefore feel free to state salary claims. Starting date is as soon as possible.
