Are you an enthusiastic researcher with strong analytical skills and knowledge of water quality, soils, and agriculture in the Netherlands and Europe? Do you have a good knowledge of hydrology and soil processes and the leaching of nutrients to ground- and surface waters?

We are hiring two water quality researchers with proven expertise on the interaction between soils, agriculture, hydrology and water quality. We are looking for candidates with extensive knowledge of the behaviour of nutrients in soils, hydrological processes and the resulting leaching of nutrients to ground- and surface waters. You should have experience in model building and model application, and have affinity with data processing. You should be able to conduct innovative research, publish your results in scientific journals, translate the outcome of your research to policy advise and be a communicative team worker. Finally, it is critical to have the ability to build up an (international) network.
We offer a meaningful and international work environment characterized by dedicated professionals who perform in multidisciplinary teams. Depending on your expertise and experience a salary from a minimum of € 2.790,- to a maximum of € 5892,- depending on skills and working experience based on a fulltime employment. The appointment is for minimally 32 and maximally 36 hours per week, for a period of 24 months. In case of good functioning and if future research financing allows, there is a possibility for a permanent position after 2 years.

The mission of the team Sustainable Soil Management is to contribute to improved soil management practices and soil quality for the benefit of resource use efficiency and recycling in biomass production systems. In doing so we help to increase food, feed, and fibre production alongside improved water and air quality. We are passionate about the chemical, biological and hydrological characteristics of soils, and how those relate to the use and recycling of carbon, water, nutrients, metals, fertilisers, manures, and wastes.
