The Departments of Biological Sciences and Chemistry at Vanderbilt University seek a highly motivated candidate with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology or Biochemistry to fill a non-tenure track, instructional faculty position at the rank of Senior Lecturer for AY 2022-2023. The successful candidate will teach in lecture courses and a laboratory course within the Undergraduate Program for Biochemistry and Chemical Biology ([WMD1] [DBJ2] ).

This position will be a part of our growing Biochemistry and Chemical Biology program and will assist with teaching needs in several classes including bioorganic chemistry, advanced integrated lab, and new upper-level electives. The candidate will work with a team of supportive faculty to provide quality instruction to undergraduates.  The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of reappointment to a multi-year renewable contract  contingent upon institutional need and review.

Teaching a full-time load equivalent to three courses in each of the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Teaching undergraduate biochemistry and chemical biology curricula. 

Teaching an undergraduate biochemistry laboratory.


PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology or Chemistry in hand by August 15, 2022.

Three years postdoctoral research or teaching experience is desirable. Applicants should highlight their experience working with undergraduates and supervising undergraduate research in the laboratory where possible.
