Senior Lecturer in Mathematics

The Role

The School of Mathematics is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (analogous to Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, with the level of appointment depending on the experience of the successful candidate.

We are looking for a world-class researcher in Logic or Set Theory. We interpret these areas broadly, and although preference would be given to a candidate in set theory, it is not limited to such, and candidates in other areas of modern logic, such as computability theory, model theory and proof theory, are encouraged to apply.

What Will You Be Doing?

The post-holder will be affiliated with the School’s Institute for Pure Mathematics and will be responsible for their own research programme, undertaking independent research.

The post-holder will also teach undergraduate and postgraduate students and take on appropriate administrative duties.

They will be a key member of the Logic and Set Theory Group at Bristol, which is an internationally leading centre for research in set theory and the philosophy and foundations of mathematics.

Contract type: Open-ended

Work pattern: Full time/100% time

Grade: J, K or L

Salary: Grade J in the range £44,746 – £50,253 or Grade K in the range £51,753 – £58,225 or Grade L in the £58,225 – £69,488, per annum (appointed at grade depending on experience)
