Position Overview

The School of Medicine at UCC seeks a Senior Lecturer in Palliative Care to:

  • Lead the MSc Palliative Care programme, in collaboration with Marymount University Hospital & Hospice

  • Contribute to undergraduate palliative care education

  • Engage in clinical research and supervision

  • Apply for research grant funding aligned with UCC priorities

  • Undertake academic duties within the Department, School, and College


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership of MSc Palliative Care programme

  • Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Research, supervision, and publication in palliative care

  • Academic administration and service


Qualifications & Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in Palliative Care, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field

  • Leadership experience in academic programmes preferred

  • Experience in teaching, research, and supervision

  • Garda vetting or international police clearance may be required

Salary

  • Senior Lecturer Scale:

    • €83,910 – €118,893 (Scale B)

    • €81,033 – €112,948 (Scale A)

  • Placement based on public sector pay policy
