This is a great opportunity in a joint position between the University of Adelaide and the Women's and Children't Hospital Health Network. The successful applicant will be provided with 2 separate employment contracts.

Exciting Senior Lecturer role in the Discipline of Paediatrics as part of a joint appointment with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Health Network (WCHN)

The Adelaide Medical School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Paediatrics who will be based at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and will participate in the delivery of clinical services in Paediatric Medicine.

As the appointee, you will supervise trainee medical staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will provide leadership in teaching and research in the Adelaide Medical School and in service and policy development at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Health Network.

This full-time position will be located within the Adelaide Medical School or its affiliated research and teaching spaces, with clinical services and duties provided in the Discipline of Paediatrics at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The responsibilities to the University of Adelaide position include leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the development of a high quality research program relevant to the Discipline.  Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to evaluate and provide academic support within the Women's and Children's Hospital including the promotion of a culture of research and teaching excellence.

To be successful you will need: 

  • Registered as a medical practitioner and specialist paediatrician; FRACP (or equivalent).
  • Higher degree by research such as MD, PhD.
  • Demonstrated track record in research and teaching commensurate with level.
  • Experience in conducting high quality research in Paediatrics.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, both undergraduate and postgraduate students in a tertiary clinical and academic setting.
