About the Role

UCC invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Statistics. The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and develop statistical research across the School of Mathematical Sciences.

  • Foster external partnerships and secure research funding.

  • Contribute to teaching and delivery of BSc and MSc programs.

  • Support growth in PhD enrollment and embed statistical research across UCC’s Futures Research Initiative.

  • Foster international collaboration through established partner institutions.

This role combines research leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities, making it pivotal to the development of statistical science at UCC.


Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD or equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related area such as Statistical/Machine Learning or Data Science.

  • Track record of independent research of international standing.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor research teams, PhD students, and contribute to teaching.

  • Commitment to promoting statistics across research clusters and academic programs.

Additional requirements:

  • Garda vetting or international police clearance may be required.

  • Experience in internationalization and collaboration is highly valued.
