Specific Purpose Whole-Time Post

UCC wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Future Sustainability. Reporting to the Head of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will undertake research and teaching in sustainability.

Applicants should have relevant degrees to doctorate level in Civil, Environmental, Process, or Energy Engineering and an appropriate track record of research and publications in areas relevant to environmental sustainability and decarbonisation in business, industry and enterprise. They should also have relevant experience and/or a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Industry experience, including research links would be an advantage. A track record in securing funding for, and participating in, national and international research projects would be an advantage. In addition to teaching Sustainability in Enterprise and related areas, the successful candidate will be required to undertake research and generate research funding in key strategically important areas relevant to Civil, Environmental, Process or Energy Engineering in the School of Engineering, in the Environmental Research Institute (https://www.ucc.ie/en/eri/) and in the MaREI Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine Research (www.marei.ie). The successful candidate will also be required to participate in appropriate administrative and/or leadership roles across the discipline, school and university.

Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: €71,047 - €99,564 (Scale B)/€68,639 - €94,718(Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
