Senior Research Assistant in the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) (Ref.: 502238) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)


Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Education, Social Sciences or a related field; with at least 3 years’ post-qualification work experience and training in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods including text coding, discourse analysis, survey design, data interpretation and analyses, etc. They should have good research and technological skills, preferably with some experience in educational technology; an excellent command of spoken and written English; and good interpersonal and organizational skills. They should also be able to work independently and as a team. Interest in higher education and educational pedagogy is a distinct advantage.


The appointee will work with academics and teaching staff, fellow research assistants and student helpers on developing Communication-Intensive Courses (CIC) and relevant technology-enhanced teaching and learning projects. He/She will assist in conducting literature searches and reviews, data collection (e.g. administer questionnaires, conduct and transcribe interviews), data analysis, report and journal writing, and the delivery of professional development for the centre when necessary.
