Senior Research Assistant in Innovation and Information Management (IIM) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 517423) (to commence as soon as possible for up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations Management, Statistics or a closely related data-analytics discipline. The ideal candidate should be equipped with strong computational and/or analytical skills, preferably with research experience and familiarity with deep/machine learning, statistical learning and optimization methods. Applicants should have experience in applications in relevant contexts with large-scale temporal-spatial, network, clickstream, textual, image, or other business-related data, such as article writeups, proposals, and projects. Experience with big data tools such as Spark, and machine/deep learning tools such as Pytorch with GPU is essential. Applicants should have a good command of spoken and written English; and should be able to work with high-performance computing cluster and cloud computing services.
The appointee will work with Dr. Zhepeng Li (Lionel) on designing big data-driven models/algorithms to address a range of business and societal problems, draft grant proposals and submit research articles, including business analytics, knowledge discovery, personalization, healthcare management, FinTech, social media, and human mobility amid other business research streams.
