Duties and responsibilities
  • High level research by applying novel and innovative methods to study the dynamics of marine ecosystems and fish stocks in coastal sea and Baltic proper.
  • Fish stock and recruitment analyses and interpretation of results, conducting field surveys, conducting laboratory analyses and experiments, data analyses, presentation of results at international level science conferences and publishing results in peer-reviewed research journals.
  • Taking care that necessary resources are available for research.
  • Supervising master's and PhD students and researchers.
  • Popularisation of research.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
  • Conducting postdoctoral research or the same amount of working outside of Estonia independently with individual research project.
  • Capability successfully to apply and lead research projects.
  • International level research work and regular publishing in peer-reviewed research journals.
  • Application of environmentally sensitive fish stock recruitment models, application od stable isotopes to study migration patterns and behaviour of fish stocks.
Required language skills
The candidate’s Estonian and English skills must be sufficient for communication in his/her speciality.
