Salary
£27511 to £30046 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the role of Teaching Assistant in the School of Computer Science based at the University's Jubilee Campus. The School is particularly interested to receive applications from candidates with skills in the areas of functional programming, cyber security and networking but applications from high quality candidates skilled in other areas are also welcomed.

The role will have specific responsibility for teaching in the School which involves specialist laboratory and example classes and will contribute to delivering teaching, examinations and project supervision across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.

Candidates must have a first degree in Computer Science. Teaching experience in relevant computer science and programming subjects, including project supervision at degree level and Masters level is desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills will be essential. A willingness to develop and deliver innovative teaching skills is desirable.

The School has an active programme of teaching-related activities, the role holder will work to support these which include industrial placements, hackathons and outreach activities.

The posts are offered on a permanent contract, hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
