The Opportunity

The Department of Economics is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) for several sessional teaching associate roles in Clayton, Caulfield & Peninsula campuses. 

The Role

As a Teaching Associate, your duties will have an emphasis on the following:

  • Supporting Academic Unit Co-ordinators/Chief Examiners
  • Delivery of workshops, tutorials and student consultation
  • Marking and delivery of assessment within subjects in which you teach and assisting in other units as directed
  • Contributing to course and team planning review processes through attendance at team meetings as required

You will work with support, guidance and direction from the academic staff with an increasing degree of autonomy as you gain skills and experience.

Eligibility Criteria

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • At least an Honours degree in Economics or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to stimulate, actively engage and educate a given audience
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively with students and teams
  • Demonstrated record of teaching experience in a tertiary environment
  • A demonstrated capacity to work in a collegiate manner with other staff in the workplace
